Kakapo Books
Kakapo Books was launched in 1997 with the aim of
establishing opportunities for the dissemination of new research
in the study of New Zealand culture. The publications have attracted
a considerable international and multi-disciplinary response and
are currently employed on both school courses and university programmes.
The aim of the publications is that they are informative yet accessible,
and that the readership is broad.
Publications have been commissioned, but proposals
for new authored books are welcomed. Kakapo anthologies include
collections of the papers presented each year at the annual conference
of the New Zealand Studies Association - formerly known as the New
Zealand Study Group - which has been hosted in London since 1994.
Kakapo Books has been committed to publishing these conference papers
since 1998 and it is also a sponsor of the event. Kakapo Books has
an international advisory board of editors
and all publications are refereed.
